There wasn’t enough time to hang the Dinner Jacket back in the wardrobe before it was time for the highlight of any Lodge’s calendar, that of it’s Ladies’ Night , which was on the Saturday of the following weekend and was to be a ‘Masked Ball ‘ at the Runnymede Hotel, a superb venue adjacent to the River Thames. The Grand Union Suite had been booked and looked amazing and beautifully decked out for the occasion.
Over 110 members and guests accompanied by their partners, suitably dressed for the occasion in their finery and stunning masks attended the champagne reception followed by a superb meal and dancing to the “Wedge” Band until the early hours on the following morning.
A great evening was had by all and with the help of the sponsors and generosity of those present, helped to raise a record amount of just under £2000 for the nominated charities.
