Promoting Middlesex in Freemasonry Today

For the third time this year North Harrow Lodge have been fortunate to have articles published in Freemasonry Today, the United Grand Lodge’s magazine. The latest piece shows how a few of our members got together for a bit of team building, fun and frollocking whilst taking the opportunity of  promoting Freemasonry in general and the Province of Middlesex in particular by flying our newly designed  flag as we sailed  along the south coast for four days last July.
From Left to Right. W.Bro Harris-Cooksley (Sec), W.Bro Russell (ADC), W Bro Biddle (Charity Stwd),
W.Bro Clayfield (IPM), Bro Luther-Davies (SD6368), W.Bro Watterston (Treasurer),
Bro Leonardo Monno (JD), W Bro Coleridge-Matthews (WM)
Although almost half the crew were novices, of which 3 had never sailed before, never mind eating, sleeping and living in a confined space aboard  a 46′ yacht. However, we did have a number of experienced sailors in the Lodge crew that had sailed the Channel and Bro Luther-Davies who had actually sailed the Atlantic, so we were in good hands and confidently managed to negotiate the tides, winds and my cooking (the latter was the most dangerous) in the Solent whilst under the eagle eyes and direction of our skipper and current WM who delivered us all safely back to Hamble marina in one piece. Next year’s sailing is already at  the planning stage and we have doubled the amount of Lodge members that what to join us, so I think we will need a bigger boat.!!!!!
