Grabbing a Crafty Week off

Once in every year at a stated period , it has been an established custom for the @HarrowFreemason family to depart these shores in search of older climes and snowy conditions.

This year was no exception, so we bundled all but the kitchen sink in the back of the car and ventured once more to Meribel in the French Alps.
A trip we’ve made annually for almost 30 years…..
So the time had arrived, it was at the ungodly hour of silly o’clock when we started our 700 mile drive through France, stopping every couple of hours for a short break, a stretch of legs and a change of driver, arriving late afternoon at our prebooked hotel accommodation at the foot of the mountains in Meribel-les-Allues

After spending a couple of days in the hotel it was time to negotiate the roads to the main resort higher up the mountain only stopping to put the snow chains on for the final few hundred metres. That’s where the car stayed for the duration of the holiday.

The snow was great this year and we were able to ski almost every day in superb conditions. The holiday was booked directly through Meriski who having used them previously have offered a very high level of service, unlimited wine, beers and spirits and a chauffeur service to transport you to and from the slopes.

A week later and almost half a stone heavier it was time to dig the car out of the snow and negotiate the long drive home, back to reality !!

Can’t wait for next year 🙂
